LINDA
MORONEY
FILMMAKER | EDUCATOR | PROGRAMMER
Everyone should have the opportunity to tell their own story.

I approach documentary filmmaking as an instrument for transformation. It's the intersection of art and journalism, a junction that is an endlessly fascinating and still-evolving place.

Non-fiction storytelling helps us understand our relationship with each other and the world, which is an involuntary act. Humankind has been doing it since sitting around fires in caves. It's a primal instinct that feeds a universal hunger.

The three legs of my work interconnect: making films that tell compelling stories, sharing them with others as a festival programmer, and teaching and supporting others filmmakers who want to bring their stories to the screen.
